Big Bear Lake 4th of July Celebrations for 2011
|
Looking for the best display of fireworks in California? Big Bear Lake is host to the 5th largest fireworks display, which are lit from a barge on the lake and is sponsored by the Rotary Club. The 4th of July Celebration for 2011 is viewable between 8:45 and 9:15pm from any of the public parks. For the best view in the house, take your boat out on Big Bear Lake and enjoy the array of colors from fireworks reflecting over the lake. Be sure to get there early, as the marina launch closes during the fireworks display. To learn more about this event, call 909-866-4607.
Rotary Club BBQ - July 4th, 2011 - Rotary Park at the Village In addition to the lakrefront fireworks display, the local Rotary Club hosts an annual BBQ at the Marina Resort, with food and entertainment. The Marina Resort is located on Lakeview Drive and admission (without food) is $10. For $20, you can eat pizza, mexican food, or hamburgers, and for $24 you can eat steak.
Big Bear Lake has a ban on fireworks, and although it is not sure if the ban will be lifted for this year's celebration, it's best to play it safe and let the professionals shoot off fireworks at the city's well renowned display directly off of Pine Knot Landing. Fireworks are not permitted in the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County, so be sure to follow all of the county rules when traveling or celebrating 4th of July this year.
